Frequently Asked Questions
How long do results last?
Results from wrinkle-relaxing treatments typically last three to four months. With regular treatment, some patients find that the effects last progressively longer as the targeted muscles gradually weaken over time.
Does it hurt?
Most patients describe the injections as a brief, mild sting. The needles used are very fine, and the procedure is quick -- usually completed in under 15 minutes. No anaesthesia is normally required.
Is it safe to have treatment near the eyes?
When performed by a trained specialist with detailed knowledge of periocular anatomy, wrinkle-relaxing treatment around the eyes is safe. As an ophthalmologist, Dr Stavrou has particular expertise in eyelid function and the delicate structures surrounding the eye.
Will I look frozen or unnatural?
No. The aim is always a natural, rested appearance -- not a frozen look. Conservative dosing and careful placement allow normal facial expression to be maintained while softening lines that contribute to a tired or aged appearance.
